Aroma:
6 (of 7)
Note:
A pleasant scent of citrus and oak with melon and vanilla underneath. The aroma is a bit short-lived but nice.
Taste:
8.5 (of 10)
Note:
This is a very smooth Chardonnay with soft flavors of melon, citrus, fig, vanilla and oak along with slight undertones of butter and honey. The beginning of the taste is very broad, with a lot of component parts that fit together nicely. The end is a bit too tart but it's very brief. Overall, a very good Chardonnay and another success from Beckett's Flat Winery.

Food:
I enjoyed this Chardonnay with a grilled cajun tuna steak and onion rings and the wine was a terrific match. I think if I'd just squeezed a fresh lemon and lime over the fish instead of cajun style, I would have liked it even more. The Beckett's Flat Chardonnay is a very good choice with fish, but I am going to keep on ranting about these twist-off caps until they go back to corks. After all, do you want to be taken seriously as a wine or not?
