Color:
2 (of 3)
Note:
A light, pale straw color.
It's a little too thin.
Aroma:
5.5 (of 7)
Note:
Nice mild aroma's of pears,
vanilla and figs. There's a hint of wet cardboard that costs
it some points.
Taste:
9 (of 10)
Note:
Delicious and crisp fruit flavors
of pears, green apples and figs combine with a dash of vanilla
and just a little spicy edge at the finish to give this Chenin
Blanc a terrific score. There's just the right balance between
sweetness and tartness to make the wine work on different
levels. It's surely one of the best Chenin Blanc's I've tasted
this year and another great value at only $7 a bottle.
Total:
16.5 (of 20)
Food:
After two weeks of vacation
traveling and Tropical Storn Ernesto, I came down with a mild
case of bronchitis. So my wife made chicken soup with matzoh
balls (and found a reason to use up the rest of this matzoh
meal that isn't kosher for passover - whoever heard of such
a thing!?) This always cures me! And the wine doesn't hurt
either!
