Note:
As loyal readers know, I'm
partial to red wines, but I have to admit, I really like this
Cuvee Prestige. I have found few Sauvignon Blancs I really
like and even fewer Muscats, but this blend is terrific. As
the label says, it's semi-dry and slightly sweet with pear,
peach and mild apple flavors. What the label doesn't tell
you is how light, buttery and elegant the wine really is.
There's a gentle honey flavor as well, probably from the Muscat,
that gives it just the right amount of sweetness. It's mild,
light and wonderful with summer meals. And at $10 a bottle,
it's another great value.

Food:
I thoroughly enjoyed this wine
with a grilled chicken and salad as the days shorten, the
summer season draws to a close and another football season
is about to begin. The Ella Valley Select is a great way to
conclude our summer wine season.
