2.5 (of 3)
Note:
A light paper color that looks
clear and crisp. Surprisingly good legs on the glass.
Aroma:
6 (of 7)
Note:
Sweet and fruity with tones
of butter and vanilla. Delightful and light.
Taste:
8.5 (of 10)
Note:
Delicate, light and slightly
sweet with tropical fruit, vanilla and slight tastes of figs
and nuts. A very good light wine that's ideally suited to
summer meals. Soft, pleasant and easy to drink. Like most
French wines, it's made in a classical style of subdued sweetness
and subtle flavors that blend very gently. This is a great
wine for a picnic.

Food:
I had it with pasta baked with
cheese and tomatoes. It would also go well with chicken and
light salads. I've been terribly disappointed with a lot of
Herzog wines from California, but their French wines are a
different story altogether. The traditional French style is
a classic for a very good reason. But the odd thing is that
so many recent articles talk about how California wines are
now surpassing French wines in quality. I haven't seen this
at all in kosher wines. The French wines are still, as a class,
superior in every variety. And at less than $10 this wine
is a terrific bargain. A real value!
