Goose Bay Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc

Winery: Goose Bay Winery

Year: 2005

Type: White

Country: New Zealand (Marlborough)

Grape Variety: Sauvignon Blanc

Note:

Alcohol: 12.5%

Mevushal: Yes

Date Reviewed: 5/18/06

Color: 2 (of 3)

Note: A very pale and light paper color. Quite thin looking.

Aroma: 6 (of 7)

Note: The aroma is surprisingly good given how watery the wine looks. It has a pleasant combination of flowers, butter, caramel and a hint of vanilla.

Taste: 8 (of 10)

Note: A tart citrus fruit with added flavors of fig and vanilla. It's a little sharp for my taste.

Total: 16 (of 20)

Food: For my first kosher wine from New Zealand, I had broiled trout and couscous.
