Color:
2.5 (of 3)
Note:A very unique strawberry color due to the unusual grapes (for a Rose) that really shimmers in the light. Very nice.
Aroma:
5.5 (of 7)
Note:
Strong aroma's of flowers and strawberries but not much else. Really not enough dimension to the scent for a top score.
Taste:
8 (of 10)
Note:
It starts with good sweet berry flavors of raspberries and strawberries. There's an interesting spicy flavor that slowly builds in the taste. It grows larger and larger the longer you hold it in your mouth until it dominates the taste. It's obviously the influence of the Shiraz. It's interesting how much you can influence how you experience the wine by how long you hold it in your mouth. While this is really true of most wines, you won't find a more striking example that this Beckett's Flat Cerise.

Food:
I had it with lox and bagels and it was OK, but not great. The winemakers recommend it for lox but I'd still prefer a dry Riesling instead. This might go better with a poached or grilled salmon.
