Note:
I've always enjoyed Golan Heights' Mount Hermon in the past, but I don't recall it ever being this harsh before. This vintage is really a surprise to me. It's dry with medium tannins and nice fruit flavors of black cherry and blackberry that compliment spicey pepper and oak flavors nicely. But it's a little rough at the edges and has a bitterness at the finish that's not welcome at all. I always liked this wine before, but I can't recommend it now, not the 2004 at least. I can't guarantee that this vintage will improve with age, but I certainly hope so. I have more bottles!

Food:
I had it with spaghetti and meatballs and, based on past experience with Mount Hermon, I really expected better!
