Aroma:
6 (of 7)
Note:
A very nice scent filled with strong aroma's of blackberries, plums, licorice and oak.
Taste:
8.5 (of 10)
Note:
This Merlot is just the way I like them, very dry with loud, biting tannins. The fruit flavors of blackberry and plum combine nicely with strong flavors of licorice and oak to make a simple, yet bold taste. This is a very good beginning and I'm hopeful that with more age, this Merlot will develop more subtle and deeper flavors. Here's hoping!

Food:
I enjoyed this Merlot with a simple meal of hot dogs and french fries. After all, I can't eat gourmet meals every night and neither can you! This would go well with steak, brisket, grilled chicken and even pasta if there's enough garlic in the tomato sauce..
