Color:
2.5 (of 3)
Note:
An electric, bright ruby color that glows in the light. A very lively, fruity look.
Aroma:
5.5 (of 7)
Note:
Gentle, soft aroma's of berries, flowers and spices. There's not as much of a scent as I would have expected.
Taste:
8 (of 10)
Note:
For a middle-of-the-road Pinot Noir, it's a pretty good value. Pepper and spice dominate the flavor from beginning to end. There are lighter touches of fresh berries in the background, but they lag far behind. It's quite dry, and that's good, but it lacks the blend of fruit flavors I would expect. Good, but not great.
Total:
16 (of 20)
Food:
I had it with roast turkey breast, which is usually a great combination with Pinot Noir. But this one was lacking the subtle flavor needed to complement the turkey. A good Pinot Noir for turkey has a bit of a cranberry taste to it that I don't find here at all.
