Taste:
8.5 (of 10)
Note:
This is an old-style Italian grape that does surprisingly well in Israel. Plum and black cherry flavors dominate this pleasant Barbera along with a spice and tea flavor that's not harsh at all. There's very little oak to go with the tart fruitiness and light, mild tannins. A very pleasant, mild flavor with just the right amount of zing to it. Watch out for the high alcohol content, though. It'll sneak up on you.

Food:
I had this Barbera with turkey burgers and it was quite good! The acidity level was just right for the grilled burgers and ground turkey makes a very good substitute if you want to have less beef in your diet. It would have been even better with pasta. It's a very Italian wine that begs for good garlic bread!
