Color:
2.5 (of 3)
Note:
A heavy, dark ruby color that looks rich and full-bodied.
Aroma:
6 (of 7)
Note:
Filled with aroma's of ripe berries with blackberry, currants and plums. There's also a slight hint of oak that reminds me I should do a Head-to-Head with a Golan and a Yarden. They're both from Golan Heights Winery and made from the same grapes but the Golan is aged in oak for a shorter time so it would be interesting to see the effect of the oak side-by-side.
Taste:
8.5 (of 10)
Note:
The taste begins with lots of fruit. Blackberry, currants and plums lead to a long, dry finish with a bit of oak, pepper and tea flavors. It's a very nice blend with subtle transitions that carry one flavor to the next. I really need to try it Head-to-Head with the Yarden. If you like a little less oak, this is a terrific choice.

Food:
This Golan Cabernet went very well with pizza tonight. Yes, even pizza goes well with the right wine!
