Color:

Note:
It's a thin cherry red color with little body.
Aroma:
6 (of 7)
Note:
Thick and deep aroma's of cherries and currants with a little pepper and licorice.
Taste:
8.5 (of 10)
Note:
The flavor begins very fruity with cherries and currants and then the tannins begin to blossom on the tongue and flavors of pepper and nuts are released, followed by a long, dry finish. There's a terrific balance in the wine as it shifts from one taste to another. I only wish it had more body to it. It's a little weak, although it does a really good job with what it has. This is another of those wines that grows on you. The second glass is better than the first.
Total:
16.5 (of 20)
Food:
I had it with my wife, Linda's, homemade vegetable soup and potato rolls. We don't usually think of wine with soup, but it can really work.
