Color:
2.5 (of 3)
Note:
A very nice garnet color. Heavy legs on the glass and the look of a lot of body.
Aroma:
6 (of 7)
Note:
Powerful aroma's of ripe berries and spices. It's very similar to a Syrah.
Taste:
8.5 (of 10)
Note:
Dry with strong, biting tannins that pack a punch. It's loaded with ripe berry flavors of raspberry and blackberry along with oak, pepper and spices. If you think a Syrah is just a bit too spicy, you'll enjoy the zestiness of this wine with its softer spice flavor. Very long dry finish.
Total:

Food:
I had this with flounder fillets baked in a spicy cajun sauce. This is another example of matching the wine to the sauce. This is a fish and red wine combination that really works because the wine compliments the cajun spices in the sauce so well.
