Abarbanel Aude Valley Estate Cabernet Sauvignon

Winery: Abarbanel

Year: 2003

Type: Red

Country: France

Grape Variety: Cabernet Sauvignon

Note:

Alcohol: 13%

Mevushal: Yes

Date Reviewed: 10/12/06

Color: 2.5 (of 3)

Note: A bright ruby red color.

Aroma: 6 (of 7)

Note: Fruity aroma's of cherries and blackberries along with plums and slight scents of wood and licorice.

Taste: 7 (of 10)

Note: It's semi-dry with mild tannins and soft flavors of blackberry, plum and cherry along with wood and tea. But there's a slight medicine taste that costs it some points. I had high hopes for this wine after the color and aroma categories but you can never really tell which ones can follow it up with a great taste. This abarbanel Cabernet Sauvignon didn't hold up in the end.

Total: 15.5 (of 20)

Food: I had spaghetti with meatballs and I was really hoping for a better wine tonight. I've had some bad wines this month and I need one of these wines to step up and turn this streak around....
