Color:
2.5 (of 3)
Note:
A dark, ruby color that shines
well in the light and is full-bodied looking.
Aroma:
6 (of 7)
Note:
Filled with nice oak, blackberry
and plum aromas typical of a well-balanced Merlot.
Taste:
8 (of 10)
Note:
Very good fruitiness with blackberry
and plum flavors. Quite oaky with a long dry finish. Not the
best Merlot you can find, but not bad. I had this in an ill-fated
Head to Head competition with the Plateau du Vin Merlot, which
was so awful I'm afraid it may have colored my view of this
wine. That stuff was so bad it threw off my taste for the
rest of the day....
Total:
16.5 (of 20)
Food:
I had it with a Caprese salad
with lots of mozzarella, tomatoes, roasted red peppers and
olives. Lightly flavored with olive oil and balsamic vinegar
and the Merlot compliments it quite well.
