Plateau du Vin Merlot

Winery: Plateau du Vin

Year: N/A

Type: Red

Country: Moldova

Grape Variety: Merlot

Note:

Alcohol: 12%

Mevushal: No

Date Reviewed: 6/6/06

Color: 2 (of 3)

Note: A bright, cheery purple color.

Aroma: 4.5 (of 7)

Note: Surprisingly little scent. What it does have is a light combination of oak, blackberry and bleach. Never trust a wine that smells like cleaning fluids.

Taste: 0 (of 10)

Note: Yuck! I don't know what this tastes like, but it sure is awful! Nothing compares to this. It's absolutely dreadful! This is the worst excuse for wine I've ever tasted. It's been a long time since I poured a wine down the sink but that's where this one has to go. It's like mixing paint thinner with lots of sugar. It's sweet and disgusting. It doesn't get much worse than this! Avoid at all costs. You have been warned!

Total: 6.5 (of 20)

Food: Remember those Russian wines I told you about? Well, this is the first one I've tried and I sure hope the first is the worst! There are three more bottles to go! This is dreadful and it wouldn't go with any food. They should stick to vodka! There's a reason Eastern Europe is not known for its wines and this is it!
