2.5 (of 3)

that exemplifies a good Merlot.
Aroma:
6 (of 7)
Note:
A wonderful rich scent of wild
berries, jam, spices and oak. Very filling and delightful.
Taste:
9 (of 10)
Note:
A delicious full-bodied wine
filled with berry, plum, oak, vanilla and spice flavors in
just the right proportion. People wondered whether the volcanic
soil of the Golan Heights would be right for Merlot grapes.
Well, the answer is a resounding yes! The Yarden Merlot is
a symphony of flavors that hit all the right notes. Highly
recommended! It recently won a Special Mention at the Vinitaly
2006 International Wine Competition while the Yarden Cabernet
Sauvignon won the Silver Medal.
Total:
17.5 (of 20)
Food:
This is one of my favorite
wines and it goes well with all my favorite foods from steak
to pasta (with a red sauce) to pizza! It also goes well with
lamb and spicy dishes you might otherwise choose a Pinot Noir
for.
