Color |

| A
delicate golden straw color. It's much darker and fuller
than the Borgo Regalle. |
Note |
A
very light yellow paper color with a hint of green, almost
like the inside of a green apple. The Gabriele is creamier
in appearance. |

Aroma |

| Very
sweet and fruity with intense apricot aroma's and milder
tropical fruit scents behind it. It's just a bit too sticky
sweet smelling for my tatste. A slight edge here to the
Gabriele because I really didn't like the musty, wet cardboard
smell in the Borgo Regalle. |
Note |
A
mild citrus scent of lemon and lime with a slight mustyness
behind it that costs it points. Neither wine really shines
here. |

Taste |

| Very
sweet and light with apricot and pear flavors. Very slightly
bubbly. It's not a sophisticated flavor and not particularly
special. |
Note |
Sharp
little bubbles introduce this very different Moscato.
It has a very light and unobtrusive flavor with mild tastes
of green apples, pears and green grapes. I actually like
this taste better than the Gabriele. If only it were a
little stronger..... |

A
final word....
I
keep looking for a Moscato that I'll like and I haven't
come up with one yet. Both of these wines come up short
for different reasons. They both have their strong points
but are both plagued by weaknesses that bring them down.
The Gabriele is too sweet, even for a dessert wine,
and has such a strong apricot flavor that it drowns
out anything else the wine is trying to say. The Borgo
Regalle has a much nicer flavor but you can't assault
a wine drinkers nose witha musty aroma before they even
taste the wine. It's a fatal flaw. I'll just have to
keep trying.....
