Borgo Regalle Moscato D'Asti

Winery: Dogliotti

Year: 2004

Type: Dessert

Country: Italy

Grape Variety: Muscat

Note:

Alcohol: 5.5%

Mevushal: Yes

Date Reviewed: 9/15/06

Color: 2 (of 3)

Note: A very light yellow paper color with a hint of green, almost like the inside of a green apple.

Aroma: 5 (of 7)

Note: It has a mild citrus scent of lemon and lime with a slight mustiness behind it that costs it points.

Taste: 8.5 (of 10)

Note: Sharp little bubbles introduce this very different Moscato. It has a very light and unobtrusive flavor with mild tastes of green apples, pears and green grapes. It only misses a recommended score because of the musty, wet cardboard smell that can't be excused or ignored. Too bad....

Total: 15.5 (of 20)

Food: This isn't as sweet as other Moscato's and can be enjoyed as it is if you can get past the musty odor. Sadly, I can't so I can't recommend it.
