Cantina Gabriele Moscato

Winery: Cantina Sant'Andrea

Year: 2004

Type: Dessert

Country: Italy

Grape Variety: Muscat

Note:

Alcohol: 6%

Mevushal: Yes

Date Reviewed: 9/15/06

Color: 2.5 (of 3)

Note: A delicate golden yellow straw color.

Aroma: 5.5 (of 7)

Note: Very sweet and fruity with intense apricot aroma's and milder tropical scents behind it. It's just a bit too sticky sweet smelling for my taste.

Taste: 7.5 (of 10)

Note: This Moscato is very sweet and light with apricot and pear flavors. Very slightly bubbly. The apricot flavor is so strong, it's a bit overwhelming and distracting. I have to say I really didn't care for the flavor.

Total: 15.5 (of 20)

Food: This is a very sweet dessert wine that needs a very sweet dessert to go with it. On the other hand, maybe a milder dessert, like an apple cake, would offset the sweetness a little bit.
